China Overseas Development Association Holds Press Conference of the 14th China Overseas Investment Fair in Beijing
China Overseas Investment Fair (COIFAIR) has been successfully held by China Overseas Development Association (CODA) for 13 sessions, as approved by National Development and Reform Commission. It has been a vital occasion to bridge domestic and foreign enterprises and to stimulate two-way investment and international economic and trade cooperation.
With years of experience, COIFAIR is set to embark on a new journey. On the afternoon of February 6th, CODA held a press conference in Beijing, announcing that the 14th COIFAIR will be held from May 27th to 28th at China National Convention Center. The 14th COIFAIR is themed “New Opportunities for Global Development, New Blueprints for Oversea Investment”, as one of the highlights this year, AI technology will become a driven force to shape COIFAIR into a global digital platform for investment, trade and finance cooperation.
Over the years, COIFAIR has been a great opportunity to meet with friends and form new connections. Each session of COIFAIR welcomes numbers of Chinese and foreign dignitaries including more than 20 ambassadors to attend, as well as more than 1,000 corporate representatives from over 100 countries. In total, more than 320 forums have been held, 2410 speeches and 490 one-on-one matchmaking sessions delivered, and over 290 agreements signed. COIFAIR serves as a solid bridge to enhance exchanges and mutual understandings between China and foreign countries and contributes to bilateral and multilateral investment and trade cooperation.
The 14th COIFAIR is designed in “1+N” structure, namely one main forum supplemented by dozens of parallel sub-forums and one-on-one sessions. It preserves its character of being an international gathering and with enhanced quality. Investment and trade, energy and natural resources, digital economy, artificial intelligence, cross-border logistics and green investment are the main focuses of this year. The 14th COIFAIR will be updated to a 3.0 version with new highlights, wider coverage, and richer content.
CODA made it clear that the 14th COIFAIR will adhere to the principle of co-construction, joint promotion, shared opportunity and win-win outcome. It will carry on the concept of innovation, openness, green and sustainability. During the two days’ time, the host will present not only one grand opening ceremony, but also plenary sessions, themed FDI promotion sub-forums, product releases and more than 50 sub-forums, ambassador luncheons and other special events. The much-anticipated opening ceremony will shed light on industry investment policies. Plenary sessions will focus on industry integration. Ambassador luncheons provide new channels of interaction, while one-on-one meetings will give attendees new immersive experience. In addition, this year’s CODA will introduce many new elements that hopefully to impress the wider audience. Guest country of honor and domestic municipal governments are to jointly host COIFAIR. A designated lounge for high-end business meetings has been designed. There are also new sessions of industry and themed report release. The event expects attendees from hundreds of countries and regions and thousands of enterprise representatives.
China’s development is entering into a new era, while the world is embracing new opportunities. The 14th COIFAIR warmly welcomes decision-makers, innovators, and practitioners from all over the world to meet in Beijing, to share ideas and to seek new business opportunities at this platform of cooperation.
